The evolution advances of technology today allows us direct contact with people all around the world independent from their location, and network emergence that allow access to and grow of knowledge. To preserve and warrant the freedoms in this scenario is a challenge that is necessary to take care of.
Free Knowledge Foundation is a non-profit organisation with a team of people working on activities, a team knowing and assuming that challenge.
Individual freedoms and social solidarity are values that FKF tries to foster with its work. Its activities concentrate on the political, institutional, media and legal grounds, as well as in direct communication with the public. The main goal is to spread the idea thatcollaboration, social solidarity, "non-zero games" (in which every participant wins) provide more benefits, from ethics and with a practical perspective.
Free Software represents a tangible evicence that shows that this view is realizable, and at the same time it shows the path to follow in applying this paradigm to the whole scope of knowledge.
